If you want to improve your lighting skills with a real, practical session (not theory), join us in London for an afternoon workshop focused on continuous lighting with acclaimed photographer Laura Pannack, hosted at Sugar Studios in collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society.

This event is designed for photographers who want to learn how to shape light in a repeatable, professional way, and for gaffers / crew who want to test, compare, and evaluate continuous lighting in a real studio setup.

At the end, we’ll keep it informal with drinks and bites so everyone can connect, exchange ideas, and talk shop.

What you’ll experience

This is a hands-on workshop built around a live shoot and real testing time.

Who it’s for

  • Photographers who want practical continuous lighting skills, live shooting, and a mini critique option (“bring prints”).

  • Gaffers / crew who want to test, compare, and evaluate output, quality, modifiers, and handling.

For photographers

  • See how Laura approaches a shoot using continuous lighting

  • Learn practical decision-making: positioning, shaping, controlling spill, and building contrast

  • Get insights on how to improve your lighting with small, meaningful adjustments

  • Bring one print of your work if you’d like informal feedback and discussion

For gaffers and crew

  • Get time to test and compare continuous lights in a controlled studio environment

  • Evaluate handling, output, light quality, control, and real-world usability

  • Ask questions directly during the practical portion of the session
